Wakeman Hall was built by the Nielsen Construction Company in 1979 to 1980. It replaced Wardo Hall as the men’s dormitory. It was first occupied in January 1981 and was officially dedicated on November 6, 1981. Wakeman Hall served as a men’s residence hall from 1981 – 1990 and a women’s residence hall after that. It is now co-ed. Its name honors Bridgewater College benefactors, Benjamin O. Wakeman and Crystal Driver Wakeman.
