Excellence in choral music is a hallmark of Bridgewater College's past and present.
Student quartets were an important part of Bridgewater College's musical past. Grouped by males and females, these four person groups (plus an accompanist and director) were selected from the most advanced and talented singers. In some years, there were even two male quartets and two female quartets.
Quartets were one of the College's touring musical groups in the early to mid-20th century. They also entertained at special College events.
A notable BC men's quartet member was Nelson T. Huffman, Class of 1925. He went on to become a beloved choral musical director at his alma mater, serving from 1925 - 1965.
