President’s House (Old)/ S. N. McCann Home/(First) Administrative Annex- The building shown in these photographs stood from 1896 to 1963 on East College Street across from Founder’s Hall. It was the home of three Bridgewater College presidents and their families: Walter B. Yount (1896 – 1910), Paul H. Bowman (1919 – 1946) and Jacob I. Baugher (1946 – 1948).
The S. N. McCann family, Brethren missionaries to India and Bridgewater College educators and administrators, lived in the house from 1911 to 1917.
The building was known as the Administrative Annex from 1948 to 1963. (Another building, the George B. Flory House was later known by that same name). It was demolished in 1963 for the construction of the Alexander Mack Memorial Library.
