Abstract
This honors project is an examination of the processes used to determine the value of private businesses. Business valuations using the income, asset, and market approaches will be analyzed.
The income approach is used to determine a business's future value. The asset approach values a business based on the current value of assets. To determine the value of a business in comparison with similar businesses the market valuation approach is utilized. The most common met hods of valuation under each approach will be discussed.
