Abstract

The purpose of this project is to investigate the status of campaign finance and proposed methods for reforming it in the United States. This will be accomplished by looking at the history of campaign finance and the problems accompanying it. Special attention will be placed on the laws that deal with campaign finance and the various ways that they are circumvented by those running for office. The project will look at recent proposals for reform to the system to determine which ones are viable and may possibly be used to solve the problem.
